Butterscotch Brownies
(also known as Blondies)

Ingredients:

1/4 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
3/4 c. flour (I use Gold Medal)
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. vanilla
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

 

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter over low heat.  Remove from heat; stir in sugar until blended; cool.  Stir flour, baking powder, and salt together; blend in.  Mix in vanilla and walnuts.  Spread in well-greased square pan, 8x8x2.  Bake 25 min.  Do not over bake!  Cut in bars while warm. 

Yield: 18 bars about 2 1/2x1
