Baked Candied Pecans

Ingredients:

1 lb. pecans
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. allspice
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. water
1 egg white

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt in one bowl. In second bowl, put water and egg white. Beat to a froth but not stiff. Mix pecans with egg whites until coated. Pour sugar mixture over pecans and stir until evenly coated.

Spread in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. (One other recipe said 45 minutes…)

Slide parchment paper (with nuts still on it) off of the baking sheet and onto a wire rack (or the counter) to cool.

Break nuts up into a bowl to serve or store at room temperature in an airtight container.
