Mark's Italian Garlic Bread

By Mark Wood

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups lukewarm water
4 Cups Bread flour (replace a cup with wheat flour if you have it, I normally do)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (fresh please)
1-2 tbls italian herbs (1 if it's Penzeys)
2 cloves minced garlic (fresh)
2 tsp regular yeast
4 tbls EVOO
3 tbls sugar
1 tsp salt

Directions:

Put water in breadmaker, mix in all except flour and cheese and allow yeast to fully disolve. Add in flour and cheese. Start breadmaker for 4 cup loaf, light crust.

You could knead it by hand, but adjust the liquids as needed. The rise & bake time is 3 hours 15 minutes total in my bread machine. I think about 30 minutes baking time.

If you want it cheesier double the parmesan and go a little heavy on the olive oil. The more cheese the more browns flecks on the outside of the bread. :)

Cut thick slices and toast in the oven lightly (or to taste) and butter for serving. If you really want garlic, mix your butter for spreading with minced garlic and a little salt. Warm and melt that together and spread it on your bread before toasting in the oven.

Just wait until you smell that garlic/italian baking bread smell in your kitchen. This is a Mark original, adapted from a basic white bread I've been making for years. I have a loaf in the breadmaker as I type this...
