HOLIDAY FRUIT PUNCH

Excellent punch and easy to make. Traditional taste; also a wonderful punch to serve at non-holiday functions such as baby or wedding showers. Can be doubled or tripled as needed, but this recipe serves a good-sized crowd.

Ingredients:

1 pkg. strawberry Kool-Aid - unsweetened
1 c. sugar
1 12-oz. can frozen orange juice
1 12-oz. can frozen lemonade
12 - 15 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 - 3/4 c. maraschino cherries (if it is Christmas, mix red and green maraschino cherries)

Directions:

Prepare Kool-Aid by adding 1 c. sugar and water called for on the package directions. Stir to dissolve sugar completely. Place in large container that can be covered and stored in refrigerator. Add frozen orange juice and lemonade and water that is called for on BOTH of the cans. (Probably about 6 cans of water, or three for each , but some frozen concentrates call for 4 cans of water. Read the lable and use whatever is required) Mix well. Add pineapple juice to taste and refrigerate until serving time. To serve, pour over ice or ice mold in large punchbowl. Add cherries after you put punch in bowl. If it is Christmas, you might prepare a second pack of strawberry Kool-Aid (or use some of the punch itself) and pour it into a Christmas tree shaped mold. Add a mixture of red and green maraschino cherries to the mold and stir to mix well. Freeze until very solid, overnight is good. Float this mold on top of the punchbowl. Cherries will look like little lights on a Christmas tree and as the "tree" melts, it will release the cherries and it will not water down the punch as plain ice would do.

Serves roughly 25-30
